BIOGRAPHY

Vuokko Lahtinen has studied viola at the Helsinki Conservatoire and Sibelius-Academy under guidance of Helge Valtonen and Tommi Aalto. Currently she is studying at the National Conservatory of Paris (CNSMDP) with David Gaillard. She has studied chamber music with professors Marko Ylönen, Paavo Pohjola, Yovan Markovich, and Marie Chilemme. She has also studied orchestral conducting with professor Jorma Panula in the Sibelius-Academy youth conducting class and Panula-Academy. 


Lahtinen has been lucky to play with her friends in festivals like Eloa-festival, Festival des Cordes de Loire (France), Sysmän Suvisoitto, Flow-festival, Ankkabarock, Kallion nykymusiikkipäivät, in chamber music concert series of Tapiola Sinfonietta and in a concert of Finnish chamber music in Musikverein, Vienna. As on orchestra musician Lahtinen has worked in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Finnish National Opera Orchestra and chamber orchestra Avanti!
Lahtinen is passionate about examining the connection between arts and sciences. She has participated artistically in the climate conference of Aurora Borealis Foundation in Svallbard and co-operated with science communication organization Allegra-Lab.
