Italian-Swiss flutist Livia Schweizer started her studies at the Sibelius Academy in the class of Mikael Helasvuo in 2014. Ever since moving to Helsinki, she has participated in several contemporary music projects; she often played in the UMUU-ensemble in Helsinki with which she has been playing music of Sciarrino, Wolff, Brown and Davidovsky.

In the last few years she developed a very strong interest towards improvisation, in addition to leading different projects in Helsinki with the aim to explore the field of crossing arts. In 2018, Livia had her apprenticeship with the Finnish National Opera. She is a member of the Beethoven Now! chameber orchestra and has often performed with the Helsinki Sinfonietta, playing under the baton of conductors such as Christoph Alststaedt, Santtu-Matias Rouvali and Leif Segerstam.
Now master student in the class of Mikael Helasvuo and Hanna Kinnunen. Livia is going to take part in an exchange program starting January in the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, studying there in the class of Jim Walker.
