Freelance violist Johanna Paananen, born in 1988, plays and teaches viola. In 2017, she ended her master studies with Prof. Boris Faust at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. She has studied also with Prof. Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic, Helge Valtonen and Maria Mangeloja, and has taken part in several master classes here in Finland and abroad (i.a. Atar Arad, Miguel da Silva, Bruno Pasquier and Marius Nichiteanu).
Johanna has a huge passion for chamber music and during her German years she even produced her own concert series ”Finnische Musik IM DIALOG” with her colleagues. Nowadays you might find Johanna playing the viola, for example at the Tapiola Sinfonietta, or teaching young violists at the East Helsinki music institute. Johanna is playing an instrument made by Marcus Klimke.
