BIOGRAPHY

Henriikka Teerikangas (b. 1989) studied French horn in Sibelius Academy with professor Timo Ronkainen and Tommi Hyytinen. During her studies she spent a year as an exchange student in Universität Mozarteum Salzburg where she studied with a world-renowned horn player Radovan Vlatkovic. Teerikangas studied also conducting and graduated from windband conducting class of Sibelius Academy in 2017. She has studied conducting with Jorma Panula, Petri Komulainen, Atso Almila and Peter Larsen.

Teerikangas is working as a freelance horn player in various orchestras and chamber ensembles, for example Ostrobothnian chamber orchestra, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Zagros ensemble and Finnish Baroque Orchestra. She has been part of wind quintet 5parts since 2013. Beside modern French horn, Teerikangas also plays natural and baroque horns. Since 2017 Teerikangas has been the artistic director of Helsinki Symphonic Winds (Akateeminen Puhallinorkesteri).
