"Le rêve de Maya" ("Maya's dream") is a double concerto for accordion, cello, and orchestra. The composition lays the foundations of a limitless musical language; Its instrumentation is unique and conveys a unique musical color.
Inspired by the numerous traditions from the legacy of the greatest composers, Samuel Strouk communicates us a powerful and free epic narrative, a dream made of evocations and unforeseen developments. This undoubtedly virtuosic piece is one of the first examples of the new cross-genre music era: it is enriched by several centuries of symphonic music history, while also deeply rooted in the oldest oral traditions and improvisation practices.
Samuel Strouk is a French composer, guitarist, conductor and artistic director. Involved in many projects, he is the musical director, arranger, and producer of the Trintignant Mille Piazzolla project which won the grand prize of the Charles Cros 2018 Academy (Sony Music - Masterworks).
